Get a Washington Real Estate Broker's License

Brokerage and Business Management classes now available as Correspondence Courses

Expand your business opportunities — take the next step and get your Washington real estate broker's license. A broker's license allows you to open your own real estate office and hire your own real estate salespeople.

To get your Washington real estate broker's license, you must meet the following requirements:

be at least 18 years old;
have a high school diploma or the equivalent;
have at least two years of experience within the last five years as a full-time real estate salesperson;
have successfully completed 120 clock hours of approved real estate courses within the last five years, including:
- a 30-hour real estate law course,
- a 30-hour brokerage management course,
- a 30-hour business management course, and
- a 30-hour elective course.

Once you've met these requirements, you must take and pass the state broker's license exam.

Rockwell offers the courses you need to fulfill the broker's license education requirements, and we can help you pass the broker's license exam.

Note: As of July 1, 2010, managing broker license applicants will be required to have three years of full-time experience within the previous five years and complete three courses before taking the state examination: a 30-hour Brokerage Management course, a 30-hour Business Management course, and a 30-hour Advanced Real Estate Law course. Rockwell will begin offering these courses in late January/early February of 2010.

Broker's Special

If you sign up for the Broker's Special package, you can save $252. The package includes four 30-hour courses and the Broker's Cram course. The 30-hour courses are three required courses—Real Estate Law, Brokerage Management, and Business Management—plus one 30-hour elective. (All these classes are available either in live-lecture or distance education formats.)
