How to Get Your California Real Estate License

Need to know exactly how to get your California real estate license? Enrolling in the three required real estate licensing courses is just the first step.

Step 1: Complete Your Three License Courses

Starting October 1, 2007, completion of three real estate license courses, California Real Estate Principles, California Real Estate Practice, and one approved elective course, is required by the Department of Real Estate prior to sitting for the real estate examination.

Step 2: Submit Your Exam Application

Once you submit proof to the state that you have completed the three courses, you will be able to schedule your real estate exam. Step 3: Take a Real Estate Exam Preparation Course

With a California real estate exam pass rate of less than 50%, you need a more focused study tool for the state exam. We highly recommend enrolling in our Salesperson’s Cram online course. This review course narrows your study down to the topics that are most likely to be tested on the state exam, and includes four practice exams (with answers and explanations) which give you a detailed breakdown of which subjects you know the best and which you need to review.

Step 4: Pass the Exam & Submit Your License Application
