Application Requirements
To become licensed or certified as a Washington real estate appraiser, you must:
1. Submit a fully completed application.
2. Attach copies of education documentation.
3. Enclose a completed experience log.
4. Enclose an application fee of $246.
5. Mail the application to the following address:

The Department of Licensing will review your real estate appraiser license application to determine whether you’re eligible to sit for the examination. This process may take up to two weeks. After reviewing your application, the Department will either send you an approval letter or a letter explaining why approval was denied.
Your approval letter will contain a toll-free number to call and schedule the examination date and location. Examinations are by appointment only with the Promissor testing service. You will need your approval letter to be admitted into the examination.
