About the Washington Real Estate Exam
- The Washington real estate broker exam is a computer-based test given in person at PSI testing centers across the state. It has 130 scored multiple-choice questions, split into a 100-question national portion and a 30-question state portion, plus a few unscored pretest questions mixed in. You have 3 hours and 30 minutes to finish, and you need a scaled score of at least 70 on both portions to pass.
- The national portion covers general real estate principles like agency, contracts, finance, property ownership, and real estate math. The state portion focuses on Washington license law and practice. Because the two portions are scored separately, your prep needs to cover both thoroughly.
- Rockwell’s Exam Prep Suite pairs a live 8-hour crammer session, offered over livestream or in person, with CompuCram online test prep so you can drill practice questions and simulated exams on your own schedule. You take the exam itself in person, but your prep stays flexible and online. You can sit for the exam once you have completed your 90 hours of pre-licensing education.
Frequently Asked Questions
The broker exam has 130 scored questions: 100 on national real estate topics (agency, contracts, finance, property ownership, math) and 30 on Washington state law and practice. A handful of unscored pretest questions are mixed in, and you get 3 hours and 30 minutes.
You need a scaled score of at least 70 on both the national and the state portions. They are scored separately, so you have to clear each one rather than just your combined total.
No. Washington gives the exam in person at PSI testing centers, and remote proctoring is not offered. Your prep is flexible, though: the CompuCram test prep is fully online, and the 8-hour crammer runs over livestream or in person.
The $199 suite combines a live 8-hour crammer session with CompuCram, an industry-leading test prep tool with practice questions and simulated exams. Financing is available through Affirm. You can also buy prep pieces separately, like flash cards.
The Exam Prep Suite is built for the Washington real estate broker exam, the entry-level license. The managing broker exam is a separate, simulation-based test with a higher passing score, and Rockwell offers a Managing Broker’s Cram for it.
Yes. Rockwell backs its exam prep with a Pass Guarantee. See the Passing Guarantee page for the terms and what you need to do to qualify.
